Joyful Rebellion
Joyful Rebellion is the title of Renwil's 2021 campaign. The home décor catalog features a new theme each year, with this year's being inspired by the works of well-known artist Henri Matisse. The theme comes at a time when we're nearly a year into a global pandemic -- a time when we could all use a bit of joy in our upside-down lives.
The photography in this campaign offers a genuine look inside Renwil's art studio as we get up close (and by that, I mean at least 6 feet away) and personal with the in-house artists and their environments.

The coronavirus hit Renwil as hard as anyone, and after losing a massive amount of employees to temporary layoffs, our usual catalog team of 8 became a team of 3. Under new management, our tiny team worked together to publish what owners and staff described as "the best catalog yet".
I directed the 5-day photoshoot and executed the photography and editing with a vintage film style, paying homage to Matisse's glory days. I also merchandised the product and laid out over 600 pages, and composited art into room stock photos to support and further call attention to the product being sold.
The cover and interior stylized pages were created by my teammate and graphic designer Rachael Seatvet, while the overarching creative direction was provided by trend expert Alem Sklar.
